Welcome to FEMA Camp 43, except in this story we, the wrters, welcome you to the Secondary Base for Free America hidden in the mountains in Eastern Nevada.  FEMA Camp 37 has now been attacked and burned to the ground twice. In the second raid, fronted by the Pale Rider, hundreds of detainees fled to their freedom with the help of Free America. One of those detainees was a young pretty brunette who wanted to be free, Lynn Beasley.  During her flight to freedom she caught a glimpse out of the corner of her eye of the Pale Rider.  She knew in her heart at that moment that whatever it took, she wanted to be like her.

One year passes of intensive training at the Secondary Base and Lynn Beasley, taking the handle of the Night Ranger, is ready to join the fight.

During her first meeting with the old man and many of his scouts in the stable at the Secondary Base a young handsome man rides in to briefly interrupt the serious gathering.  This male scout has a reputation for being a loner and some might call eccentric. He doesn't travel the trails at breakneck speeds on a horse seeking the enemy. He trusts no one except his mule, his horse and a pack of dogs that he travels with, two German Shepherds and a Jack Russell terrier. Of all the scouts, other than possibly the Pale Rider, his kill totals are high and unlike the Pale Rider, he is killing the enemy one at a time. He is never in any hurry.

Las Vegas has long ago become a ghost town like many of the ghost towns in the state  when the dollar crashed. In an unusual agreement the four nations agree to build an eighty foot high wall around the abandoned city to house the violent criminals that no one can afford. Two million of the worst in America are dumped inside those massive walls. The only agreement that was reached was that two trains every Monday would be delivered at the South Gate with boxcars full of food. The other train would be filled with prisoners from the four nations.

All four governments decide to broadcast what happens when the trains arrive each Monday to the citizens still left in Amrrica, both good and bad, to send a message to tow the line. Citizens that are free in the new nations see what awaits them if they cross the line while the citizens in what is left in the United States,,  those both in and out of the FEMA Campss in the Northeast corridor,  begin to realize that their future is stark and it is long way to Nevada.

To be a young pretty woman like Lydia Holder and sentenced to life in Sin City Prison because of killing your abusive husband is a death sentence.
