The Second Wave Part II

From the Author---So here we are sitting together at your computer station, you on your chair and me in cyberspace. This was the last page of my design. I wasn't going to post the 2023 Trilogy, the first three books of the FEMA Camp series, because what a deal at ten bucks. I warn you, there are some typos in the three tales. I threw them together one night after wrestling with Pink Floyd and Seagrams just for the hell of it before they went through the rigourous edits from Amazon and RER Publishing. Both are still mad about that but I reckon it is the nature of the beast.

Also you see the Las Vegas Worm Club. This story is the precursor to the Fema Camp series and the characters in the story, namewise, actually exist They are old Viet Nam vets who congregate everyday for the mail and drink coffee, telling me what they will do once society breaks down. Some are still mad at me for using their names. The novel is selling well and in the near future I plan a sequel titled the Las Vegas Brat Pack from the children in the prior tale.

I have placed the cover of my next work in the FEMA Camp series called the Red, the White and True Blue for fans. At 180,000 words and still no light at the end of the tunnel it is by far my longest, most emotional and exciting tale. It will be published hopefully in mid May. It is a tough write.

The book at the bottom is for your mom and I wish I had the opportunity to give it to my Mom. It would be my most valued possession now. Thanks for spending some time with me.

It was the worst of times in America. Since the currency crashed in 2013 and the food riots the same year things had been slowly getting better. Out of the ashes arose a dictator and by using force law and order was reestablished. A lot of law and order.
In 2016 an order was signed that every citizen in the States would be the recipient of a micro chip implant placed in their neck by September the first. Failure to do so would result in imprisonment in a FEMA camp.
In Vegas at an RV park a band of retired, and some not retired men, would meet nearly everyday to drink free coffee and trade war stories when the mail came at twelve noon. They had been doing this for years. They had also survived the food and looter riots in 2012. They had informally labeled themselves the worm club which stood for wild old radical men.
The chip implant program implemented by Homeland Security was the straw that was breaking the camel's back. An unorganized series of events led by a resident who had known them for years and was not an official member of the worm club took them down a path that they found they could not get off of. The members of the worm club found themselves in a struggle for freedom where the spirit was willing but taxed by bodies that were not so young anymore. But with the help of some angry teenagers maybe they had a chance.
The question was not if the worms would survive this journey, but how many?
